What is WordPress and what is a boilerplate?

WordPress is a content management system (CMS) used to build and manage websites without needing to code everything from scratch.

A boilerplate is a pre-built starter template that we use to begin a project.

To make sure our WordPress boilerplate is working as intended, we are currently on our sandbox site! This is basically a testing ground where we can test and fix anything that arises when adding new features or ideas.

What problems does this boilerplate solve?

Think of a website as a house. Most houses start with a blueprint because builders already know the standard layout and structure that works. Our boilerplate is like that blueprint. Its a strong foundation, and from that we can add, remove, or customize things that matches the clients brand. This makes starting projects a lot faster and smoother for all of us.

What is the boilerplate capable of?

Just because this is the foundation doesn’t mean it has nothing, it comes with some really cool components! We already have built-in components that we can use across all our sites.
